Simone Lingua
Cuneo, 1981. Simone Lingua joined the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence in 1999. The beginning of his artistic career is to be found in his paintings.
In 2010 Simone started his Kinetic art studies while working with Prada Group. With Prada, Simone was able to apply his kinetic concept to the Prada Facades in Las Vegas, shanghai, and Sydney. Simone worked with Prada for 12 years as a creative in different roles.
After leaving Prada in 2017, Simone’s career took a shift when he started his art exhibitions in Italy and around the world.
Between 2016 and 2018 he exhibited in institutional and private spaces including Pan – Palazzo delle Arti Napoli, Musée du Louvre (Paris), Castello Estense (Ferrara), Palazzo Bentivoglio Gualtieri (Reggio Emilia), Galleria Accorsi (Turin), Villa Mazzucchelli Museum (Brescia), Bratislava Castle, De Nittis Foundation (Barletta), Sarzana Castle, Mirabilia Gallery (Reggio Emilia), Idearte Gallery (Ferrara), Dôme – Elephant Paname (Paris), Sorrento Foundation and Galleria TAG (Lugano).
His work received the Award for Best Conceptual Artwork at Palazzo Gagliardi (Vibo Valentia, 2016).
In 2018, he signed the project Ninfea, curated by Tiziana Tommei, a temporary and site-specific installation conceived and created exclusively for the Natural thermal pool in Piazza delle Sorgenti in the town of Bagno Vignoni in Tuscany. The Bagno Vignoni project started a new era in Lingua’s creative path, focusing his attention on a heterogeneity of materials and techniques, with forays into the field of design.
In 2018, Simone embarked in a journey of experimenting a new art philosophy which resulted in the creation of his art concept Contemporary Illusions. This is a concept that aims to bring to life an unprecedented dialogue between art and architecture through mirrored surfaces, applied to large-scale art installations. To date, these studies have involved the cities of Florence, Pisa, Venice, Rome and Naples through a complete planning, also on a technical level.
In 2019, Simone progressed in his kinetic Art exploration, and this is when Klinve – Kinetic Jewels was born. Klinve is an exclusive jewelry brand that transforms Simone’s multiple kinetic sculptures into wearable jewelery.
In 2020, Simone exhibited a solo show at the church Santa Maria della Spina in Pisa, presenting for the occasion a selection of works of kinetic art, including the project The Hole, which is part of Contemporary Illusions.
In 2021 Simone signed the collaboration with Bvlgari for Expo 2020 Dubai (October 1, 2021 – March 31, 2022), conceiving the Sotiria project exclusively for the brand. Sotiria, a kinetic and site-specific installation of 150 square meters, intended for the central section of the Italian Pavilion in Expo 2020 and inspired by the theme ” Beauty Connects People “.
In 2022, the first design of Contemporary Illusions, Nuance, was realized. the concept finds application in the field of industrial archeology, with an intervention that involves the chimney of the Ex AVIR, an industrial complex of the early twentieth century.
In 2017, Tiziana Tommei has become Simone’s art curator and artist consultant, whose research focuses heavily on the work of emerging artists.
Simone lives in Tuscany since 1998, a place he calls home since his academic years in Florence.
Simone started painting at the age of six, and since then he embraced art as a way of life, he was given the opportunity to study in the city of Florence which ignited his passion in the world of sculptures. After trying and experiencing different techniques Simone embraced Kinetic Art, through which he continues to explore different forms and different feelings that he shares with the world through his different projects.
